Many individuals face great challenges in life that can seem impossible to overcome. Throughout my career, I’ve been privileged to support individuals in finding hope, healing, and strength as they navigate life’s toughest challenges. As a therapist I believe everyone is doing their best to work through hardship. However, there are times we all need support and alternative perspectives to assist in our life’s journey. My career has provided me with the opportunity to do this work with Adults, Families and Adolescents. I have seen a countless number of people find meaning in their experiences and turn it into an amazing triumph.
As a counselor I believe that for a therapeutic experience to work, being our genuine selves is key to your success. I empower my clients to find new solutions, challenge past beliefs, embrace their true self, and own the concepts of self-love and, if needed, self- forgiveness. I believe in multiple therapeutic approaches when helping people along their journey to a place of meaningful discovery. Building life skills, challenging thoughts and feelings that have hurt us, and finding acceptance are topics we can explore together. The starting point of this experience is 100% up to you and we can explore the therapeutic process at a pace that is comfortable for you. I take a casual and down-to-earth approach in sessions. A cup of tea and feet on an ottoman is where we often will start our conversation. Embarking on this journey may feel intimidating, but I truly believe that with our combined efforts, you’ll tap into the immense potential for success that already lies within you.
On a personal note…
Being outdoors is where I embrace the practice of mindfulness. You can often find me on one of the trails here in McHenry County or at a state park. I am a backyard enthusiast and love feeling lost in a different world when in my garden. I love the challenge that comes with a round of golf and am always working to improve my game. A good podcast, any Star Wars film, a cup of tea accompanied by a board game, and some time with the cats will also make any day a little better.
