I understand that leaning on others for support can be challenging at times, so I am proud you are here taking the first steps.  My goal, as your therapist, is to provide you with a safe space in order to work together through whatever factors may be causing you emotional difficulties.

I am a person-centered therapist, and as such believe in your strengths and in your ability to create change.  I am not here to judge you, but to guide and support you. I have a master’s degree in art therapy and counseling and often incorporate creative therapeutic interventions into my work.  I also utilize more traditional treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I have experience in a crisis response program and at a residential facility providing psychotherapy  to children and young adults. I look forward to guiding you in the process of creating positive change.

On a personal note…

In my spare time I love to paint.  Though I have dabbled with different mediums,  acrylic paint has always been my favorite. I like the control that I have when creating something and how easy it is to clean up afterward! More recently I have been painting with watercolors.  I appreciate the fluidity of the process and accepting the whimsical results that often occurs.   Fall is craft fair season and a favorite activity of mine.  I also look forward to the Spring season where I get to plant (and paint)  flowers and start my veggie garden. I really enjoy creating special moments with my kids, dogs and husband as we bond over crafting, gardening, exploring nature and biking together.
