Members of the LGBTQ community are twice as likely as others to be at risk for suicide as well as becoming victims of violence compared to others.  In part, suicidal thoughts can be triggered by feelings of rejection by family, friends, and religious institutions.  It is for these reasons that LGBTQ people need support and advocacy as they find their way to – first -self acceptance and then to acceptance by family, friends, and others.  At Pivotal Counseling Center, we help LGBTQ members and their families find the support they need to navigate this difficult – but ultimately rewarding – journey.
