Coming to therapy, for me, is often about asking the question, “what makes you feel most like yourself?” It is my honor to witness and join in with you on the awkward, messy, painful, joyful, and just plain weird parts of being a human. I am here to show respect for and respond to your identity and needs in order to allow you to celebrate what has allowed you to make it this far, and develop clarity and awareness going forward. I believe we are hardwired to heal, grow, and adapt.
I find so much of that comes from our relationships and connections, especially after experiencing the pain of loss, rejection, and fear. In therapy we can look at what continues to serve you well, and what no longer fits for your life so you can better live into your values. My practice is centered in intersectionality and I believe through my experiences that therapy can be a truly liberating experience.
I am a Certified Daring Way Facilitator™ which delivers the evidence-based work of Dr. Brene Brown regarding our ability to Show Up, Be Seen, Live Brave™. Clinically my work has centered around identity awareness, mindful self-compassion, and infusing trauma awareness into every day wellness.
On a personal note…
I sometimes spend my leisure time embracing play and creativity through tabletop role playing games. I also love cuddling with my dog Max under one of the 13 soft blankets I didn’t need but bought anyway, while listening to audio books (horror, mystery are my favorite genres) or playing a cozy game on my Switch. I’m an avid volleyball fan after playing and coaching for years (Go Badgers!). I can become engrossed in storytelling; whether that be Critical Role, the extended editions of Lord Of The Rings, stand up comedy, or anything in the Marvel Universe. I also have a weak spot for stationary and a good pen.
