Life has brought me down many roads.  Navigating the mental health system; learning to live through intense loss; living with a loved one with a chronic illness; loving people in active addiction; parenting a child with exceptional needs; and learning to communicate with adult children have all been realities in my life.

I am a true lifelong learner and have sought out roles and experiences which have made me very familiar with the mental health needs of people in our community as well as the resources to help meet those needs. I have worked in several community mental health agencies over the past 18 years providing advocacy and vocational rehabilitation services.

There is no shame in reaching out for help. I knew I needed help when I was in my 20’s and my husband and I were going through challenges in our marriage.  After we started therapy, I wondered why we had waited so long.  My husband and I learned valuable communication skills and learned to listen for the other’s needs as well as expressing our own.  I am happy to say we have built a good life together and will be celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary soon!

On a personal note…

Some of my favorite activities include boating, biking, traveling and playing games. My two favorite games at this time are pickleball and Mexican Train. I especially love spending time with my husband, children, grandchildren and my dog Chip.

I would be honored to work with you as you become the best version of yourself.
